Once again this year West Coast International will be attending the Genoa Boat Show. Our Charter manager Maura Zane is very attached to this fair, having been one of the first exhibitor brokers  to participate, visiting regularly since 1975.

The Genoa Boat Show showcases this strategic sector of the country’s economy, being an ambassador of “Made in Italy” to the world. The event is synonymous with excellence and prestige, and is positioned to guarantee a unique stage. The show ensures the involvement of an international audience present and online, who are focused with great interest on these high-end products and services.

Genoa, confirmed as the world capital of boating, hosts this 62nd edition of the Boat Show from 22 to 27 September 2022. Over six days it will transform Genoa into the most exclusive showcase dedicated to boating and yachting, with exhibitors from all over the world offering the best of the industry.  The latest news from shipbuilding production to engines, from electronics to accessories, from services to tourism will be shared with visitors from all over the world.

The 2022 Genoa International Boat Show will once again involve and unite producers and enthusiasts in this event, most representative of nautical excellence and a true flagship of the sector. Once again you will be able to admire sailboats, outboard-engine boats, dinghies, powerboats, motoryachts and of course all the latest news about national and international boating as well as a rich calendar of events.

The 62nd edition, sold-out in terms of registration of Italian and international exhibitors, reflects a market characterized by a strong, sustained growth trend, confirming the authority and strength of the event.

With respect to tickets, surveys show a 37.3% growth in online purchases in the first 8 days. Motor boats are 51% of the total sales, pneumatic boats 34%, while sailing boats together with multihulls represent 15%.  Institutional events and workshops dedicated to lovers of the sea but above all of boating are also once again featuring in Genoa. After the flag raising at 10.30am on 22 September, the inaugural conference “Nautical industry: growing in Italy, conquering the world” (“Industria nautica: crescere in Italia, conquistare il mondo”) is scheduled at the Pavilion Terrace. One of the newest features this year will be the project «Genoa, the galley of the seas» (“Genova, la cambusa dei mari”), created by Davide Rampello to enhance the shops, emporiums and the Genoese heritage.

With over 200,000 square metres of exhibition space across land and water, the 62nd Genoa International Boat Show is ready to welcome and amaze its public.  Admire 1000 boats, enjoy a rich program of events and workshops to be held in the Blue Pavilion, in the Forum and Innovation Rooms and bask in the evocative setting of the Terrace, and the Teatro del Mare. The premium nautical event in the Mediterranean is presented with a renewed layout that benefits from the complete renovation of the Levante Waterfront, redesigned by the architect Renzo Piano.

Capitalizing on the extraordinary editions of 2020 and 2021, and in contrast to the European scenario, the 62nd edition of Salone Nautico Internazionale di Genova presents exceptional statistics: “there are over 1,000 boats present, 998 brands on display, with over 168 new announcements of models, boats, yachts and the like. Saverio Cecchi, Confindustria Nautica‘s President, presenting the event stated “The Boat Show is constantly growing; this year the exhibition spaces in the water have increased by 5.2% and the new areas of the Levante waterfront already under construction will guarantee us further development over the next 10 years”.

Carlo Maria Ferro, president of Agenzia Ice, spoke about the presence of 145 foreign buyers from 19 countries and an area dedicated to introducing 10 new startups which are supporting the industry. Meanwhile the CEO of I Saloni Nautici, Carla Demaria, announced the 2023 first World Yachting Sustainability Forum with the presentation of the European Yachting Sustainability Report.

Also accompanying the 62nd International Genoa Boat Show, are industry leaders from related sectors, supporting the event as sponsors and technical partners, including MERCEDES-BENZ, EBERHARD & Co., BANCA CARIGE, FASTWEB, GEBERIT, SARA ASSICURAZIONI, FREE TO X and HELLY HANSEN.

The 62ndSalone Nautico Internazionale di Genova” was promoted in March 2022 at Expo Dubai and more recently in New York, in the prestigious headquarters of the New York Yacht Club.

Mario Peserico – General Manager of Eberhard & Co. and CEO of Eberhard Italy said: “This year we are celebrating our 135th anniversary and we are also making our debut as Official Timekeeper at the 62nd Genoa Boat Show. A natural passage, given the love that binds Eberhard & Co. to the sea. Over the years, we have been suppliers to the Regia Marina Militare Italiana, pioneers in the creation of a diving watch” They first sponsored the America’s Cup, providing their watches before making them available to the whole offshore market.
