MONACO YACHT SHOW 2022
Since 1991, the Monaco Yacht Show has focused on promoting excellence in the world of superyachting. Once again this year, from 28th September to 1st October the exhibition showcased this year’s superyachts available for charter and sale.
As a customer at the Monaco Yacht Show, it is possible to meet experts in the field, that will make your yachting plans come to life and you can get the latest updates on current and future trends in superyachting. Visitors interested in such yachting projects can experience a tailor-made experience at the Monaco Yacht Show with the show’s official VIP programme, where it’s possible to discuss plans with industry experts and future yachting trendsetters.
The Monaco Yacht Show (MYS) offers special guests the Sapphire Experience: an official bespoke programme for this event. The MYS concierge services organises a tailor-made visit, enabling you to take full advantage of the activities such as a scheduled visit on board the superyachts available for purchase or charter, and scheduled meetings with experts to discuss the yacht project that you have in mind. The Sapphire Experience package is reserved for visitors interested in chartering or buying a yacht (prequalification will be necessary).
Media and press agents visit the Monaco Yacht Show and produce features and articles, interview the key players in the superyacht industry and report on the latest trends in the market.
Today, the superyacht world is redefined, mixing yachting with unusual destinations and offering truly unique experiences and/or thrills on your charter. You can drive all-terrain vehicles to the North Pole, enjoy an underwater excursion, take a tender to remote islands coasts, enjoy tailor-made tours of historical and cultural sites or discover unusual animal species, all while respecting delicate ecosystems.
The MYS 2022 launched a new Monaco Yacht Show Adventure Area – exhibiting a combination of the former Car Deck (luxury cars ranging from electric to off-road models), tenders and water toys.
This Adventure Area is a totally new yachting experience, with a wide range of equipment, activities to take part in, and services. Discover sports and day-trip tenders, luxury and off-road vehicles, water toys, high-tech equipment, and find out about helicopter and dingy excursion programmes to the most exotic and remote destinations of the world. The Adventure Area is placed at Quai Antoine Ier, Quai Jarlan, Port Hercule, Monaco. It offers free access with a valid MYS pass.
The MYS also offers a Sailing Yacht Area. Placed at Quai l’Hirondelle, it is possible to get aboard large sailing yachts and meet sailing yacht builders, designers or equipment manufacturers. This is the best opportunity to discover a fleet of sailing yachts and experience, comfort and on-board technology along with the finest motoryachts.
As in past years, the Monaco Yacht Show hosted the Monaco Yacht Summit: a panel of designers, brokers, builders or financial advisers discussing all the practical aspects necessary to be familiar with in order to carry out a yacht project. This summit is exclusively reserved for yacht owners, charterers and future clients.
Monaco Yacht Summit topics this year included:
Experts’ Insights; where some of the best known superyacht industry business people, gave their perspectives on industry trends for example new technologies; project design trends; new destinations and they share some thoughts about the future of yachting.
Charter: experienced charter brokers, charter managers and yacht crews spoke about the essential ingredients needed for a successful charter, ranging from the yacht, the team involved, where to go and what to see and do.
Purchase: Shipyard managers, naval architects and designers, project managers and legal experts provided guidance on practical steps when purchasing a second-hand yacht or starting a new construction project.
From Prepurchase, Through Re-design To Delivery – « Behind the Scenes : The Refit of Galaxy»: Members of the project team, including the designers and a shipyard delegate, highlighted the whole process of the pre-purchase of a second-hand vessel, the re-design of the interior, and the total refit project, from the beginning to the delivery.
The Monaco Yacht Show decided on a pro-environmental approach in 2005: the Carbon Neutral Programme. It is a sustainable action programme concerned with the organization of the show and has been set up in cooperation with the Monaco Government. It supports the environmental protection initiatives of the Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation, the Blue Marine Foundation and the Water Revolution Foundation.
For many years the yachting industry has been investing in sustainable solutions, driven by owners’ desire to reduce the pollution generated from their yachts. Today, we can confirm that sustainable solutions do exist.
This year in 2022, the Monaco Yacht Show launched another brand-new exhibition area focused on the research and development of sustainable solutions in yachting: the Sustainability Hub, located at the Darse Sud exhibition tent, Port Hercule, Monaco. Access to the Sustainability Hub is totally free on presentation of a valid MYS pass.
Last but not least remember the most prestigious events of the Monaco Yacht Show are the gala evenings and private cocktail parties on board the yachts and you can also arrange to board a tender for an exploratory cruise off the spectacular Monagasque coast.
