On 26^th August 2014, First State Global Listed Infrastructure was added to The Adviser Centre as a Recommended fund.

First State Global Listed Infrastructure is co-managed by Peter Meany and Andrew Greenup.  Mr Meany is head of Global Listed Infrastructure and co-founded this specialist business with Mr Greenup in 2007.  They are supported by a dedicated team of investment professionals and analysts.

The team seeks to deliver inflation-protected income, while aiming to preserve and grow capital over the long-term, through investing in companies with high quality infrastructure assets that are trading at a discount to their long-term fundamental value.  They have developed a robust and disciplined process and they conduct detailed stock modelling and monitoring, whilst being conscious of various geopolitical and macroeconomic scenarios and the potential impact on the overall portfolio.

This is a specialist offering within the IMA Global sector and may appeal to investors who are seeking a globally diversified equity portfolio that provides a degree of inflation protection, through growth of both income and capital.  As a niche fund, it has distinctive risk and return characteristics compared to global equity indices; many investors are attracted by the sector’s lower volatility profile whereby it tends to offer some protection in negative market conditions but typically, it does not fully participate in strongly rising markets.
