Meet MY LOTTY Chef: Stefania Tagliavia
Born in 1984 – Stefania grew up in Palermo, Sicily and following her political science studies at University in Palermo, went all round the world travelling coast to coast in the USA and also to Africa and Asia. After college Stefania worked in a restaurant initially and then in event management for many years joining a local company as catering manager and cook.
She has managed to combine her love of cooking with her love of working with children, and continues that role still, working at a local junior school in the winter months when she is not being the chef onboard My Lotty. She gained her professional teaching qualification in 2021. Stefania speaks her native Italian but also English, Spanish and French.
Stefania began to be interested in cooking in her early teens, learning from her mother and grandmother and has gained great experience over recent years. Stefania joined the team in 2017 and loves to cook savoury dishes, especially with vegetables and fish.
Stefania enjoys the variety that cooking on a yacht provides not only cooking for adults but also children. She appreciates the variety – not only of the different landscapes, but also the different guests. She loves polite guests and those who really appreciate life on board; when they are happy she is happy.
About MY LOTTY Motorsailer:
MY LOTTY, formerly known as Serena, is a 27m / 90” luxury yacht. She was built in Italy by the Benetti sailing division shipyard in 1983. The exteriors and interiors, designed by the Benetti designers themselves, are the perfect combination of comfort and harmony with the sea.
This splendid classic vessel, with a maximum beam of 6.2m and a draft of 3.5m, is powered by two 250hp MAN engines which give a maximum speed of 10 knots.
Her sailing performance is given by her ketch navigation system, equipped with 2 masts and a sail area of over 300 square metres.
Her exterior, typical of the wonderful 80s, is a perfect place of comfort where you can rest and enjoy the sea.
