Given Malta’s favorable maritime regulations and world-class facilities, the island remains an essential hub for yacht owners, charter guests, and industry professionals.

The Royal Malta Yacht Club

Established in 1835, the Royal Malta Yacht Club (RMYC) has played a key role in promoting sailing in the Mediterranean. Founded by British naval officers and local enthusiasts, it has grown into one of the region’s most respected yacht clubs.

The club is renowned for organizing prestigious events, including the Rolex Middle Sea Race. First held in 1968, this 606-nautical-mile race starts and ends in Malta, taking sailors on a challenging route around Sicily. In 2024, Germany’s Red Bandit secured victory, becoming the third German yacht to win the competition.
